Bending, marking and cutting wire

Instructions for measuring, bending, marking and cutting wire

Once you have the right gauge wire and circular form or jig ready for marking the wire along with all the materials needed that are listed, you can now go about putting all of the the stuff together for marking and cutting arc segments and sections...

Since the example here goes about using wire in coils, a coiled roll of wire will be used... The fiberglass or cloth measuring tape is put outside the bottom perimeter of the circular ring form and secured with double sided tape. Then onto the top perimeter of the circular form, the wire is "unspooled" and clipped to the form to be measured, marked and cut at the end of each segment. What you end up with is a main arc segment cut at the end with marks in between for the individual arc sections (of that main segment).

You can either do one group of segments at a time for each main course segment, or do the whole set/group of 5 segments. Each of these sections are repeated 5x apiece for marking and cutting, so for each course numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4 - there are 5 segments to repeat. These are marked and cut in groups of 5 on the main circular wire form or jig... For example in the 2v diagram and corresponding spreadsheet - Course 1 will have 5 sets of segments 5, 2-o1-oe1-1-lp1, and 2-2 each... and so on (each set is labeled with tape or labels so there's little confusion or disorganization).

Once marked and cut, each main section should be marked at the "begining" that corresponds to the begining number or start of that segment in the spreadsheet. A thick tippped Sharpie or permanent marker makes this easy, as well as marking out individual sections (where a thinner marker can also be used).

Once you have all the courses of wire measured, marked, cut, sorted and organized on a table or board (grouped together in bundles of 5 where needed), we can finally go about final assembly with: Putting it all together...(assembling your 2v wire frame dome model).
